Just added to the Charlton section:
Zoo Funnies v1 #1 (101)
Says #101 on cover. Whether this represents an attempt at creativity in numbering or a misunderstanding of existing comic-book numbering conventions is unclear. This is in fact the first of the series, even though the indicia for #1 of the 1953 series also says, Vol. 1, no.1.
Cowboy Western #17 (begins the series; numbering continues from Jack in the Box)
Cowboy Western #18
Cowboy Western #19 JVJ
Cowboy Western #20 JVJ
Cowboy Western #21
Cowboy Western #22 JVJ
Cowboy Western #23 JVJ
Cowboy Western #24 JVJ
Cowboy Western #25 JVJ
Cowboy Western #27 JVJ
Cowboy Western #28 JVJ
Cowboy Western #29
Cowboy Western #32 JVJ
Cowboy Western #36 JVJ
Cowboy Western #37
Cowboy Western #38 JVJ
Cowboy Western #39 JVJ
#39 ends the 1948 series, which (if I have this all straight) becomes Space Western
for #40-45, goes back to Cowboy Western for #46, then Cowboy Western Heroes for #47, and finally Cowboy Western again for #48-67. As with everything else, Charlton certainly knew how to get their money's worth out of a second-class mailing license.
Big thanks to the incomparable JVJ for making these comics available.
