I know nothing about the TV show, but as a detective story, this comic is pretty darned good, much in the way of a humdrum police procedural. But not quite as "just the facts" as Dragnet. Like Burke's Law, there are some interesting characters as suspects, including the Elvis look-a-like. The art fit the realism of the story quite well. The second story wasn't quite so good, much more of a 'crime doesn't pay' story. I'm not so fond of those types of stories.
