Evidently, at least one person at American Comics Group thought that Bob Schwartzs 1945 designs for Billy and Babs in Hi-Jinx wasnt satisfactory enough for the Rollicking Rabbits reprint here, because their faces are distinctly different in that issue.

The most interesting aspect of that decision is that Neither Schwartz's faces nor the redrawn ones look like rabbits' faces!  They couldn't get it right, TWICE!!!     And the re-drawn faces are not only belonging to the wrong animal, but they have incorrect expressions for what's going on in the story and the dialogue!  At least Schwartz made them look happy! 

NONE of MY editors over the past 37 years would have allowed those drawings to pass.  They'd have been commented upon in the storyboard stage, and the boarder would have gotten a good chastising (and maybe 15 lashes with a wet noodle).  The in-house editorial artist would have been fired (or demoted to lunch runner)!
