OK, I just ran across a Bumblebee-man credit page on another scan here so I guess it's all ok. It was posted before and nothing happened, yay.

I just uploaded Space Adventures 041 1961 Charlton to the Silver Age Sidestreets section. Scanner unknown.

I also noticed that Space Adventures 057 is posted in the regular Charlton section rather than the Silver Age Section.

Quiet here tonight. Too quiet...

I just uploaded Hunk 010 1963 Charlton, a humor title about dinosaurs that fill up at grass stations. Other issues are presumably different, but judging by the covers at GCD, all involve humans and dinosaurs having fun adventures together.

Indicia states " International rights secured. All rights reserved."

Hey, in the description I added the line "I did not lol".  Inappropriate? I myself like some pretty awful stuff for various reasons, I'm not knocking the comic or anyone who likes it. In fact the comic is almost subversive in that it seems the creator(s) really think they have something here, so you're almost second guessing yourself.

I collect several Charlton including Hunk. It is awful. But that makes it fun.

I probably give Narf fits when I post Charlton stuff in the wrong area.  ;D  Its one reason I leave approval of the Silver Age Books to him when I'm not sure.

I have just uploaded Battlefield Action 047 Charlton 1963 to the Silver Age Sidestreet section. A tech note - A little popup box shows when I open this cbr. It says "Warning - Garbage at the end of the zipfile!" I just check OK and it goes away. I have lots of scans which trigger this popup and have never had a problem. Anyone know what this means?

I have also just uploaded Battlefield Action 060 Charlton 1965 to the Silver Age Sidestreet section.

Both comics state in the indicia  "International copyright secured. All rights reserved."

The pop up is a mac leftover file that goes in with the zip/rar. It is not a problem

Thanks for the explanation Narfstar!

I have just uploaded Attack at Sea 005 Charlton 1968 to the Silver Age Sidestreet section. A sharp scan by Vigilante407 of what is a surprisingly good printing job from Charlton. The art is much better than most Charlton of the time.

There is absolutely NO information at all about copyrights. This was one of those Charlton comics that had two lines of text at the bottom of the splash page. That's taking minimalism too far.

Charlton's lack of professionalism has been to our benefit.

Not only do you you get a big thanx for the books Max but also hugely for making sure you have your files named properly and put in the right place. This saves the mods a lot of work. Sure in the future you may make a mistake and I am sure I will too. But I no longer have to check your files before approving them to make sure they are going the right place. BIG THANX hope more follow your example.

Narfstar said "Charlton's lack of professionalism has been to our benefit."

I chuckled at that. It's so true.

Thanks for thanking me for doing things right. Took me damn long enough, didn't it!

I've just uploaded the following comics to the Silver Age Sidestreet Charlton section:
War Heroes  001,  002,  006,  007

The indicia on those issues states "International copyright reserved. All rights reserved."

I also uploaded War Heroes 022 to the same section. The connection was broken before completion the fist time so I uploaded again.
The file size should be 24.4 MB.

The indicia on 022 states "International copyright secured 1966. All rights reserved."

Enjoy!

Here's some more Charltons uploaded to the Silver Age Sidestreet section.

Timmy the Timid Ghost 029 1961,  031 1962,  and 045 1966.

Indicia on all three states "International copyright secured. All rights reserved."

On the cover of 045 Timmy is reading a copy of contemporary Charlton horror comic Ghostly Tales 056 and is shivering in fear.

The little wuss.

I've just uploaded Ghostly Tales 055 and 056 to the Silver Age Sidestreet Charlton section. Now you can shiver along with Timmy!  :o

A Ditko story in each.

Indicia in each issue states "International copyright secured. All rights reserved."

I have 8 more Ghostly Tales PD issues to upload, probably not today.

Max you will have to read my earlier comments on Hunk. I collect Charlton mostly for the nostalga and charm. There are also occasional gems. I do find that Charlton seldom got humor right. Hunk was not the only not funny book. I found no real humor or laughs in their licensed properties either.

Oh yeah, Narfstar, I read your Hunk comment. My calling Timmy a wuss for getting scared by a comic book was just me being snarky, like a bully. I've not read the Timmy comics, I just know some people here might want them.

I actually thought the Timmy cover of him reading Ghostly Tales 056 was a pretty clever idea. They may have thought it was good cross-marketing to the older brother of whoever they thought was reading Timmy. But that could backfire, wouldn't the older kids link Ghostly Tales with Timmy after that cover? I dunno. We may only be talking about ten kids total here anyway.

The indicia in each issue states "International copyright secured 1967. All rights reserved."

That is the end of the PD issues.

There are ten issues now total, if someone want to give them their own sub-section.
