Back during the "sexual revolution" days there was a lot of interest in old-time literature about sexual health and morals. I read many of them, naturally. It's surprising how often strenuous exercise (called here "recreation") was prescribed for moral turpitude. The idea seems to have been that to prevent a man from succumbing to Evil Desires he had constantly to be either distracted or exhausted. Other suggestions included never to linger in bed in the morning--gotta get that cold shower and get moving before the mind wanders. Even overly spicy foods could turn a man into a beast, so lay off that sriracha.
