The editorial in this issue says this is a "new look" for Joe Palooka comics, re-casting it as an "adventure story" comic book. There were 7 painted covers, and 2 additional issues with more action-oriented drawn covers, before the comic started to revert to more comedic cover content, highlighting Humphrey (in some cases omitting Joe entirely). Then with issue 111 the action covers (although not painted) returned until 118 (the last issue). The Joe Palooka stories themselves are OK, but I'm less enthused about Humphrey and Little Max.
