Just when I think I've seen everything I run into a new gimmick. I'm pretty sure this is the first time a bank's Board of Directors don devil costumes in order to loot their own business. I'm not sure you'd call it embezzlement, though, if you take the money by sticking up the bank.

The Deacon is another small-time Spirit clone, but I've always thought he has hidden potential. He lives in an abandoned church and wears a clerical collar. His origin story makes it clear this outfit is a disguise and the Deacon is not a man of the cloth. However it'd be interesting if, instead of being your typical vigilante, the Deacon approached his crime-fighting from the standpoint of redemption, as a minister might.

Artist Jack Alderman had some good ideas. His heavy shadows serve the story well. Too bad his drawing skills aren't always up to the job.
