They talk about having 8 children in a three room flat and poverty causing crime, but today we don’t have poverty like that, yet crime in the big cities is worse than ever. The problem is, “poverty“ will never be wiped out because poverty is RELATIVE. Some people always have more than others, and those people who have less will feel that they are living in “poverty.“ If you allow that as an excuse for crime, then crime never gets solved. I’m afraid Mr. Goldberg’s thinking was part of the problem, not the solution.
