The first story is interesting in that the Beetle seems to be presenting himself as a criminal to gain the trust of genuine criminals. Blue Beetle = Green Hornet? In the second story he dresses in a short-sleeved tunic, a cowl with antennae and no mask. The third story adds the mask. By the fourth story the antennae and short sleeves are history and he is pretty much as he remains during the Fox years. One rarely if ever sees such kind of rapid evolution these days. And I wonder -- is his outfit meant to be chain mail? Must make running and swimming a bit of a challenge.

Yeah, a pretty fast costume evolution indeed! I like the costume from the 3rd story. It reminds me of Giant-Man's costume with those antennas. Yes, his costume is supposed to be chainmail, and it's one of the source of his super powers during the Fox period: the chainmail makes him bulletproof and Vitamin 2-X gives him super-energy.
