Hi folks - I was hoping someone would care to recommend a comic (or comics) here with their favorite or even just a lot of spacecraft art? Thanks... ze B

Go to the AVON & ACE Comics folders. And don't forget Planet Comics in the FICTION HOUSE folder.  ;D

Space Action (ACE) a three issue run. Very "heavy on the cheese" sci-fi, a la Flash Gordon.  :)

Check out Race for the Moon in the Harvey section, they had "The Three Rocketeers" in issue #3 which might interest you.

I can't suggest a comic other than those already mentioned, but if you want an anime, then try Planetes - gorgeous space scenes and a very Arthur C Clarke hard SF universe.

Magazine Enterprises JET (part of their A-1 series) have some really cool Bob Powell covers. I haven't seen the interiors yet...

Also, must see-- the super cheesy De Laurentiis film of "Flash Gordon". (1980) There's some terrific art direction, capturing the feel of the old comics in a way that no other film has really attempted, IMO . . . the spaceships really have the feeling of the comic strip, very "old fashioned".

the movie has a bit of a cult following, recommended.

One of the best comic artist for spaceships, as well as being just downright good, is Ron Turner. Difficult to find many illos to back up my claim but this might help:-

Rick Random was one of his best known characters but there is so much more.  The Random stories in Super Detective Library ( pocket size comics) are highly collectible.

and don't forget, the wonderful art from science fiction magazines. Cover art from stuff like "Amazing Stories" was terrific
