Captain Marvel Jr
« on: March 01, 2007, 08:13:48 PM »

I just uploaded Captain Marvel JR. #25 in a folder called Moondood 3-1-07.  I scanned it this morning. Part of cover is missing and back cover is gone, but scans are nice n' crisp.

You may notice I upload folders of scans not .cbr or .cbz files...when I make a .cbz file my MAC reader (Comical) seems to think the file has twice as many pages...not sure why this is.  Anyone have any ideas about that?  Anyway, if you could convert the folder to a comic reader file, then it'll probably work better than if I did it.

Thanks for that moondood. Unfortunately we cannot use loose jpegs on the site, they must be packed up into a rar or zip file. l will download, pack and reupload them  for you this time but you are going to have to work out how to do it on a mac for the next scan. Also Serj has temporarily put a hold on uploading due to lack of space on our server, so it would be best to wait for him to sort it out before uploading anything else
http://goldenagecomics.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,355.0.html

Also when uploading to the ftp make sure you do not include any strange or unusual symbols in your names, l had a lot of trouble actually getting the scans of the ftp, l could not download the folder for some strange reason. Just upload to a folder with your name, you can subdivide that folder if necessary but keep the folder names simple to avoid problems. Thanks
Do not use your initial folder again but the one with just your name, in an attempt to fix the problems by renaming the Captain_Marvel_Jr_025 > scans folder with the illegal ">" sign l seem to have stuffed it up and now cannot delete it :(

Gosh, sorry for any problems.

Making a .zip on mac is easy as pie so I'll just go ahead and do that in the future--and no more ">" symbols.

Lemme know if you want me to re-upload those problem files in the future when uploads are allowed again.

There was an icon file in the folder with your scans, l assume this is similar to the thumbs file windows users sometimes include? l deleted it anyway. Also you do not seem to be registered with the download site moondood, if you register l can make you a VIP, which would give you access to unlimited downloads

Moondood's scan of Captain Marvel Jr. is now available for those who would like to download it

Aussie...

I AM a registered user--and loving it--of the DL site...and have been for over a month or so.  Been DL'ing books which I don't think I could do without registering.  I mean, I have to sign in and everything.  TRy comicscommando instead of moondood...that's the name that pops up when I leave comments about files I have just downloaded.

Over here on the messageboards, it's moondood.  I started signing my posts with both names a couple days ago just in case.  I'm not usually such a computer moron, but I seem to be causing more trouble than helping.  I have more files standing by when uploading is allowed again.

As for the icon file in the folder, I dunno 'bout that--unless it's something the computer makes automatically?  I certainly didn't make it on purpose.--But yeah, probably a thumbview file

Best,

Moondood

Yes it does help if you use the same name on both sites  :-\
