Stardust is on the cover because the 'I Shall Destroy All Civilized Worlds' Fletcher Hanks collection has been voted by many in the issue as one of the top releases of the year.  I bought it myself and quite enjoyed it.

  I'm definately planning on getting that book myself. I've recently leafed through a copy of that book and I was very impressed.

BTW: I enjoyed the Miss Fury story they reprinted.

It's a pretty cool book though the final story reveals some very, VERY unpleasant information about Hanks as a person that might turn you off on him.

If you'd like to see some Hanks artwork right now you can find his work here on the site in early issues of Fantastic Comics (Fox) and Fight Comics (Fiction House).

I will agree that the Fletcher Hanks book is very solid. It's also a wonderful argument for public domain. Who would have guessed that those stories would sell so well until someone put them out there on the market?

and the final story is brutal, but also incredibly well done. It, by itself, is a reason to buy the book. It adds another important element to the other history that we are getting from people like Gerard Jones about the early days of comics. We tend to focus our attention on the big names, the talented few, forgetting all the unsuccessful people following in their wake.
