How about a section for public domain comics not considered Golden Age for
example Dell, Charlton, Gold Key...etc.

We have already allowed some of the titles to go beyond the GA period if there are no copyright problems, the 1960's are going to be off limits. l doubt if any of the silver age Dells of Goldkeys would be public domain anyway and nothing after 1962 is going to be considered public domain, since copyright renewals were no longer necessary.

I was wondering what other comics after the GA and before 1962, other than the ones already posted,
would be considered public domain?

I wonder about the defunct companies such as

Milson/Lightning with Fatman and SuperGreen Beret

MF Enterprises with Captain Marvel(now called Mod by Bill Black and AC Comics) and Henry Brewster

The site is for GA (or near enough) public domain comics, unless the publisher specifically stated somewhere that they were making their material public domain the ones you mentioned would not be, they are still legally copy protected. AC Comics get permission to reprint some material, not all of it is public domain.

I was not suggesting them for here just wondering about their status since the companies are now defunct.  If the companies owned the copyrights and they no longer exist then who owns them?  Wonder about Atlas/Seabold and Skywald also.  BTW: Would the old childrens hardback series Bomba the Jungle Boy and Rick Brant adventures be public domain?  They would be good assets to www.guttenberg.org which I believe also takes comic books that are pd

Copyright works kind of like a desk or a lamp in this case:  When the company goes under or dissolves, either it was sold or ownership reverted to one or more of the owners, and would be inherited or sold as needed.

It never actually becomes public domain, per se (unless donated).  The best you can hope for is that there's no owner of the copyright, which means that, while the content is still under copyright, nobody has the legal authority to sue for infringement.

According to Wikipedia the Rick Brant copyright has been assigned to the writer.  Bomba was by the same company and reprinted into the sixties so they would have renewed the copyrights.
