Yellowjacket 2 and Four Favorites 23
« on: May 11, 2008, 09:46:41 PM »

I got my YJ #2 and it was missing not one but 3 centerfolds.  The seller is refunding my money.  Four favorites was missing a centerfold only as listed.  Both are now in narfstars ftp as zip sorry forgot to rename them first.  Still two great books for your enjoyment.

Great Cover on that 4 Favorites. Is that the artists name in the bottom left? Pa?ias?

I take it the books are presented as having been photo'd?
If so with that degree of clarity I'm thinking the process can be made a valid way to capture the books.
What type of camera were you using? Makes me wonder if I can photo and upload direct to puter from the desk thru the firewire without the use of a memorystick.

Thanks

Rez,
PLEASE stick with normal scans if and when possible.
They are MUCH more clear when reading.  A digital picture can only go so far.

Is narfstar's 4 Favorites23 just uploaded to the FTP a photo or a scan?
I thought the clarity presented there is pretty detailed.

Maybe they are a scan, I dunno.

Hi Rez,
Just downloaded them before adding to the site.  Both these books are 'normal scans.'  Not digital camera.
If you do a search on the site for 'digital' you can see what Narfstar's camera scans look like.  His technique has improved over time and some camera scans are actually pretty good but I'm sure Narfstar would agree as far as producing a clear, sharp and easy to read scan using a normal scanner is always best.  BUT he would also tell you a camera scan is faster to do and less harmful to the actual book which one can't deny.  Speaking as a reader I prefer a normal scan but I'm always grateful to all scanners for anything that they care to share no matter what the format.

These last two from Narfstar are GREAT stuff!  Two of my personal favourite titles!   ;D :D

Both are now up on the site!

Yes, I got looking at the shape of some of my books which are of a higher grade with the memory of my KO Komics debaucle (which really ...ahem...Knocked me Out...snorK* I might cast a closer analysis eyeball to the way of photographing.

Yes guys these books are scans.  Given their condition there was no chance of harming them any more just like my Warfront 29 which was scanned.  I have a Holyoke One shot which I will photo as it is in pretty good shape.  Before the crash you could have checked the dates on my photos and they were done within a short period of time because it is much faster.  I still have hundreds of books left to do so many will probably be pics or I would never get done.  Sorry for the lower quality but it is the only way to get the quantity.
