Hello, my name is Jake! I'm 19 and I love comics! :D I live in California and I am going to college currently.
So, I was wondering if anyone could help a new member out and suggest their favorites and whatnot.
I enjoy all comics! Thanks everyone!

Hello Jake and welcome to CB+
I'm a huge fan of costumed heroes and some of my favourites can be found in the Better/Standard/Nedor section, particularly, The Black Terror.  For real fun, try Captain Marvel in the Fawcett section.   Also lots of non-American titles in UK an Australian - I'm a fan of Ace Hart.   For lots of high class art and some great stories, look in Quality for Police Comics, Smash Comics, Plastic Man and many more. There is so much so dig in.

Hi Jake glad you are here. You could prepare for your college history classes by reading Stamps Comics, Real Life, New Heroic and some others. It really depends on what type of stories you like what type of comics you will like. We have a wide variety so try different genres and let us know what you like.

BTW the first time I got a copy of Stamps comics I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. They take a stamp and give the story behind the picture on it. In just a few pages you get some interesting facts.

Hello,

I have just signed on as a member.  I look forward to scanning through your impressive offering.  I appreciate the fact that many of the books presented here are outside of the mainstream.  Perhaps I might also be able to make a contribution.  I read quite a lot of French language "bandes dessin

Welcome to the group John. We would welcome any contributions. Old comics in lower grades are cheap even if over 50 years old. You might be surprised what you can turn up.

Hello John and welcome to CB+.  Enjoy the comics.  When I was in Montreal a couple of years ago I found a few comic shops but one of the very few old comics I saw was  Australian and there was hardly anything in French.  ( There also were lots of Australian Frew Phantom comics available - odd).  There was a lot of new French language material available but old stuff seemed very scarce.  Being a fan of BD and able to read French, it was a bit disappointing.  But I could simply have been in the wrong shops.  It would be good if you could dig up old French-Canadian comics.  I'd love to read them for one.
