Using GA PD images in another work- citation requirement

If I were to use images from GA PD comics (or even out of copyright illos from books) in a new book, would I need to make special citations of this? 

What about copyright notices? If my new material is copyright, how should I distingiush between the copyrighted work and the public domain material.

This place is a great resource!

JVJ is a publisher he may be able to answer your questions. Anything that is PD does not require any citations but giving credit to CB+ would be appropriate.
