BBC news has announced the death of GERRY ANDERSON.  Doing this on my new tablet so cant add the link.Aged 83, he had been suffering from alzheimers.

I saw that! I grew up on his stuff I really liked UFO and Captain Scarlet. And my favorite Thunderbird was number 2 ... but I guess that was everyone's favorite. All a long time ago now ...

I have very fond memories of watching shows of his such as Supercar, Fireball XL-5 and Stingray on Saturday mornings.

Sad to hear this. I've been watching a lot of his stuff in the last few years. I finally got to see all the episodes of Space 1999, which I missed when it was on the air here, and received a Thunderbirds Six DVD for christmas several years ago. Also watched some other films he worked on.
A real pioneer.
One of the last of the Stargate series episodes (no.200?) had a tribute to his Thunderbirds style marionettes. Unfortunately the SG1 puppet's strings were cut by the stargate wormhole effect.

 Such a swell feature of a 1960's childhood. Supercar was just the coolest. Rest in peace, Mr. Anderson.
