Hello :)
« on: January 08, 2013, 08:49:47 PM »

I'm 30 years old from Cincinnati, Ohio and found this site last night while looking for more info on Archie artist George Frese, only to be directed back to my own site (for some reason it seems there isn't a lot of info on him!). I'm the owner of the Archie Comics Fan Forum and a huge fan of Archie Comics. This site looked interesting so I figured I'd join :)

Welcome to CB+. Oldiesmann.  Although I can't help you with George Frese, there are many much more knowledgeable folk on here who might be able to.  Enjoy the comics and have your say on the forum.

Welcome oldie. You may be the expert. Even the GCD only has 3 references and a reprint. The GCD would welcome your expertise on any and all Archie comics to add info. I am a fan of 60's Archie, their Teen Superheroes, Man from R.I.V.E.R.D.A.L.E. , Little Archie and Life With Archie. I enjoy some of the others also but those were my main reads as well as the Crusaders of course.

Since you're into the teen superheroes, check out this great in-depth article on Pureheart and pals if you haven't already seen it: The Secret Origins of Archie as Pureheart. I found it a while back and it's definitely worth reading. I love the the 60s era as well - lots of great stories and experimentation. I have a personal goal to collect all the superhero stories and all the "Man From ..." stuff as well. I even managed to snag up a couple issues of Little Archie featuring Little Pureheart :)

As far as GCD - I assume you're referring to comics.org? If so, I have contributed to that site from time to time, but don't have as much time to index stuff there as I did a few years ago. I know there are a few others on my site who are actively involved there as well.

Great stuff. I did not realize that was your blog. I have enjoyed many over the years. Unfortunately not enough of them as I do not check back often enough.

Dial B For Blog isn't my site. I just stumbled across that article a couple years ago. My site is archiefans.com :)
