I know they're not allowed here, but I have a question on a specific issue.

I just found a copy of Looney Tunes 198 today, with a 15c cover.  But the copy on the GCD has a 10c cover, and that would match other books from that time frame I have.  I don't see anything suggesting it was a Canadian edition; in fact an ad on the inside back cover specifies US delivery only on a send-away.  The issue number and cover date match the normal American edition.  Has anybody ever seen anything suggesting Dell did small price increase testing as part of the print runs?  Or have some other idea of why the book has the odd price.  Looney Tunes didn't jump to 15c until about 2 1/2 years later.

Hi Eric,
I've read in Alter-Ego that some publishers (Marvel was one) would pick a region and test a price increase there to see how it affected sales.  So today you'll see those cover variances in the Overstreet.  It wouldn't surprise me at all if Dell and others tried the same thing from time to time.

That seems the most likely, Yoc.  Ah, well.  It gets filed under "interesting curiosity" and perhaps a few years down the road somebody will figure something out.
