Jack Flash was a D.C. Thomson hero, beautifully drawn by D.D. Watkins.  Both character and artist are favourites of mine.  Philcom on comicsuk.co.uk mentioned that Jack flash was so popular that DCT decided to give him his own comic. and mocked up this cover using a Cap. Marvel illo.  Unfortunately nothing came of it, supposedly because of the wartime paper shortage.
