This comic easily rates a 9 on the basis of "Spacemen Against the Supernatural!" alone; it blends sci-fi, fantasy and slapstick comedy successfully, thanks in no small part to Ogden Whitney. I'd never read a comics story with an idiot for a hero before. It's thoroughly beguiling. The other stories are almost as good, with nice art by John Rosenberger on the cover story. It's also fun to see three different personas for editor/writer Richard Hughes portrayed in vignettes.

Wow! I would have guessed that Richard Hughes would have looked a LOT older than that drawing of this story' writer by 1961. He started writing stories and editing for Ned Pines near the beginning of the 1940s. Perhaps the writing credit for this story was erroneously attributed to Hughes, and was actually written by a man who was almost 20 years younger (the man drawn by the artist)?

Thanks for sharing your comment atomahawk. I never would have given this one a look without it. It was a fun story! And yeah, seeing the creators at the start was fun. -Yoc
