What's going on in "You Never Can Tell," the story credited to Al Williamson? The pencils don't look at all like Al's. If it weren't for the lack of broken necks I'd have thought someone like Paul Reinman had drawn it. Maybe one of his school pals? But by 1959 Torres and Co. drew better than that. At any rate it seems kind of a quickie job. I don't understand the GCD credit of AW pencils and Jack Davis inks. The inks are definitely Al's. Help me, Obi-Wan JVJ, you are my only hope.

I've NO idea where the Jack Davis credit came into the picture, except that it is from FAR left field. No, I think that the partner here with Al is Marvin Stein as primary penciler/layouts and Al doing the final pencils & finished inks. IMHO. (|:{>

NotesArt credited to Williamson in item. The GCD previously had Williamson pencils, Jack Davis inks. Per discussions on Martin O'Hearn's blog: http://martinohearn.blogspot.com/2014/06/an-inadvertent-ghost.html, it seems more likely Williamson inks over someone else's pencils. On O'Hearn's blog, Mark Evanier suggested Torres pencils. On comicbookplus.com, Jim Vadeboncoeur, Jr. suggested Stein pencils, or perhaps only layouts for Williamson finishes. Hamilton lettering credit per Mark Evanier.
