The Bird Man story reads almost like a documentary. I keep imagining Werner Herzog narrating it with Aguirre I Lacrime di Rei playing in the background.

The "Typhon" story is a real gem, about fire-breathing mermen (breathing fire underwater, a nice trick), most of whom can only say "Ha!" repeatedly. This is like a Fletcher Hanks story drawn by somebody else.

Great Lou Fine Cover. How many iconic villain cliches are on this cover? Not surprisingly, it has nothing in common with any of the inside stories. Would make a great T-shirt! Cheers.
