Is it out of the question to suggest Suspense Comics #9 as the first horror anthology comic book? It doesn’t have a considerably comedic feature like Gregory the Ghost in Spook Comics #1 or Goofy Ghost in Eerie Comics #1, as Suspense Comics #9 doesn’t have the comedic Sherry Flippe feature present in other issues.

Interesting comment, EM – and what a great cover! High quality narrative and art throughout. Sentence of Death blew me away – complete with imperilled blonde in a red dress! Nina Albright’s Journey Into Hell is an expressionist masterpiece.
