I decided to read this on a random basis - it will never be possible to read everything on this website of course - sadly. What a terrific read it was - from the extraordinarily productive Charles Hamilton. Apparently, every day, he locked himself in a shed in his garden (with all the amenities) and wrote practically from dawn to dusk - spent his life living inside his head. Do you think the this Drear Manor setting was the inspiration for Kim Newman's wonderful (if truly bizarre and unsettling) Drearcliff Manor stories?
