Ladies and genmun, I give you the amazing and sorely underrated Sam J. Glanzman! |
|
Once again Sam Glanzman gives us a bit of superbly illustrated history. It is important to remember that while Rommel was an officer in the German army, he was not a member of the Nazi Party. The war he fought was for Germany, not for the Nazis. Elections were approaching in Germany. The Nazis were afraid Rommel might win. A non-Nazi being elected instead of HITLER was unthinkable to the Nazi Party, so the Nazis gave Rommel a choice. Commit suicide,or live and watch your family be tortured and destroyed. A loving family man, Rommel had no choice. COMBAT #5 is a good issue. Fair and even-handed, as is every issue. |
