NotesSince I do not own any Rex of the Sea Fumetti's I thought I would share at least the covers anyways. Update. Rex appeared originally in Italy in the form of striscia, or lilliput, or picolino, i.e. a landscape comic with one tier per page. Created by Antonio Chiomenti and Enzo Chiomenti. It was reprinted in Norwegian, as id'd by Schaeder, published by Halvorsen and Larsen. In Sweden, where the stories were part of the comic book Hoken, it was published by Formatic Press.

These "striscie" were Italian and the covers here are from Scandinavian, perhaps Swedish, reprints . Excellent addition to the site.

Apologies Schaeder. The late mr goldenage was simply not familiar with Scandinavian languages. Do you have any examples of the Norwegian translations you could share with the community? Always a good thing to have submissions of, if you'll excuse the term, less well known titles. The stories from the comics were also reprinted in Sweden in Hoken, published by Formatic Press.

A comic book only with pictures of comic book covers, what a nice idea! Comic books in this narrow "piccolo" format are among my most formative comic memories. In the 1950s and 1960s, there were dozens of series in this format in Europe, covering every possible genre. Unfortunately most of them are probably not (yet) in the public domain.
