NotesBoots and Her Buddies comic strips from the summer of 1927. Boots was one of the most popular strips of the decade. Most of the Boots comic books on this site are reprints from later years, when the strip was more domesticated; these are more fun. They cover everything from domestic abuse to race relations. Martin draws pretty girls from the flapper era well, and some of his page design, like the silhouettes of people at the beach with their black reflections shimmering in the water, are really intriguing.
