It occurs to me that The Masked Marvel was the closest thing American comics had to the masked heroes in Golden Age Italian comics: a guy wearing a mask for no particular reason, without a secret identity to speak of, and having no super powers. He does get to wear a costume of sorts, while ZL and ZR are stuck wearing civilian clothes with their masks.
