Some wonderful stuff in here, including Captain Comet, who flies through space dressed only in swim trunks and a bubble helmet; and Mr Apollo (everyone knows he's the greatest benefactor of mankind), who bears a suspicious resemblance to a certain marvellous Captain.

The Gerald Swan books were generally fairly original. This issue was (in my opinion) an odd exception. The very first story, "Pixie-Puss and Woofy" is very clearly a swipe of "Puss an' Boots" from American Comics Group's "Funny Films". I haven't checked to see if the story is swiped but the intro panel is pretty obviously at least inspired by the cover of FF #6. Also, I could be mis-remembering but it seems to me that Mr. Apollo was looking even more like Captain Marvel than usual.

Mr Apollo is a pretty blatant rip-off of [Fawcett] Captain Marvel.
