I'm really impressed with the Spider Queen. She was a web slinger long before Spiderman even existed. Good story too. Did she appear in any comics beside Eagle? She deserved her own book.

SynopsisThe Eagle and Buddy investigate the mysterious sinking of the Navy's new submarine, the PX-1, which was carrying a fortune in gold.
FeaturingThe Eagle
ContentGenre: Superhero | Characters: The Eagle [Captain Grant Powers]; Buddy; Lem (Power's orderly); Sally Caldwell; The "Hand" (villain, death); Trent (villain, death)
NotesArt credits by Bill Black. Oddity: every web site re the Eagle that I can find lists the Eagle's identity as Bill Powers. This story specifically states (many times) that he is Captain Grant Powers. A number of sources state that Lester Raye is a pseudonym of Louis Cazaneuve.

ContentCharacters: Golden Knight
Noteslast app. in FANTASTIC COMICS #20; last appearance

SynopsisThe Spider Queen makes her appearance on the scene to turn the tables on a racket devised by the chief of police himself.
FeaturingThe Spider Queen
ContentGenre: Superhero | Characters: The Spider Queen [Shannon Kane] (introduction, origin); Dr. Harry Kane (Shannon's husband, chemist); Mike O'Bell (detective); Curly (villain, death); Police Chief (villain)
NotesPencil credit from Bill Black. Sources state that Elsa Lesau is a pseudonym of the Cazaneuve brothers (Louis and Arturo). It seems likely that Arturo did the inks for this story.
