"Bowmen of King Harry" was drawn by celebrated Portugese-born artist Eduardo Teixeira Coelho (1919-2005). This was his first work for AP. He was then living in France. The first episode of this strip (in missing No 380) is on Google Images.

Unlike Panther, I always liked the British format of short serials in a comic – I liked the variety it offered in any single issue. I also read American comics of course, mostly DC at that time. Perhaps my favourite of all were the cheap monochrome Alan Class reprints of American comics from the golden age with generic titles such as Astounding Stories, Creepy Worlds and Secrets of the Unknown. Still alive, Alan Class deserves much more kudos than he usually gets for his dedication.
Thought I’d take a look at Comet as Mortimer has been working on it. Buffalo Bill was fun – a tale of attrition in which experience counts. The Laughing Cavalier was a bit wordy – not my favourite – and the bright colour palette didn’t enhance it much. Nice pencils on King Harry, good grouping in every frame. I noticed one of the characters was called Baldrick (Had Rowan Atkinson read this) and the story was very enjoyable. Good also to have a medieval setting! Excellent pencils on Strongbow and interesting to have a Native American as the lead character – at only two pages though, a bit on the short side!
Read the adverts – you can get a genuine interplanetary spacesuit for half a crown – that has to be a bargain!
