Ah! Deadwwood Dick! The first time I ever went to the movies by myself for a Saturday afternoon Matinee the serial was Deadwood Dick. This one. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0032386/ No I didn't see it in 1940, sometime in the late 50s. I was hooked! Interesting history of the name Deadwood Dick. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deadwood_Dick I have to my surprise, read that Louis L'amour book! And this episode of 'Death Valley Days' looks like it could be fun! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0556866/ Oh, and very nice illustration on the cover! Cheers!
