Interesting starring combination of a historical character (Kit Carson) and a Hollywood Western star (Buck Jones), although basically it's just their names that are used here. Not sure of the date of this comic, but Buck Jones died in 1942 so it's probable that there was no "sales" value attached to his name and most readers probably wouldn't even have realised he was a cowboy actor. The green photo at the end of the book is of Bill Elliott, who made his last Western film in 1954, but again this is probably just used for the Western flavour.

The grainy quality of the cover image looks like it was photographed from a pre-existing book. Judging by that and the way the text sits in the balloons in odd ways, I would speculate that this was a translation. The art in the Buck Jones story is rather nice, and does appear to be a depiction of the man himself.

The Kit Carson is reprinted British material. I think the Buck Jones is, too, but I'm not familiar with it. Boy, the lettering is lousy.

Both stories are reprints of strips from Cowboy Comics (Cowboy Picture Library) I might be able to figure out which # had the originals but it'll take time. Partial success. Kit Carson is from Cowboy Comics #4, 1950.
