The scanned pages don't appear to have been "cleaned" much--was the comic's printing really this wretched? I sure wouldn't have bought it had I been a Golden Age kid. Even Fox comics looked better than this.

I wonder if these were actually "sold." I couldn't find any that had cover prices and the GCD says "price [none]" so they could have been giveaways (or sold in packages of multiple comics). The printing IS terrible--I wonder what the production process was. Did they just take copies of the original Fawcett comics and somehow crudely re-format them for printing in this small size? This was in the days before "scanning," so some physical process was involved in getting these cut down and reprinted.

I'm quite confused. The first part of this scan is a rework of the scan on the previous Commando Yank comic, then it features another thirty pages or so of Commando Yank in full colour from Wow Comics. Is this some kind of composite? It doesn't seem to fit the mould of other Mighty Midgets.

I think the uploader added the original story so readers could compare them easily.

SRCA1941 included this description when he uploaded it to DCM: "1943 - 600 dpi cover to cover scan. Additional front cover found on internet. Featuring two Commando Yank stories originally printed in Wow Comics #9 and 10. Scans of the original stories are included for comparison and ease of reading as the Mighty Midgets suffered from poor printing and, particularly in this case, poor trimming."
