NotesGHOST RIDER #1 by J Morath (with the back-up feature, Jim Stern of the Foreign Legion by Ron Edwards) was published in April 1951 (estimated) by Atlas Publications. This issue of Ghost Rider is printed in a landscape format, common for a period of time in Australian comics. Little is known about J Morath, other than he created wrote and drew the first 5 issues of Ghost Rider and at least drew 1 issue of Brenda Starr (yes, there was a Brenda Starr comic with Australian-created content). Ron Edwards also had a comparatively brief time with Atlas, before founding Rams Skull Press, specialising in Australian crafts, culture and folksongs, the considerable output of which led to him receiving a medal of the Order of Australia for services to Australian folklore.
