Looking for a British Comic
« on: December 30, 2015, 01:35:33 AM »

Hey, all you British members. I've been trying to find runs of a girls' comic serial called "Alona the Wild One," drawn by an artist named Leslie Otway. The examples I've seen have mostly been originals at comicartfans. Some are in monochrome blue watercolor, others in full color, and they're all beautiful. I think the series ran in Diana. Does anyone know this strip? Was there a collection? Are scans out there? I couldn't find Alona at the big British comics site I frequent. Thanks for any leads.

Alona was a serial in Princess Tina, a weekly which was an amalgamation of 2 different weeklies to make this title.  By the way, I think one of the editors was John Wagner - I'm sure I remember him mentioning it.
All this bumph means that I haven't found scans of the strip, yet.
There are mentions of the story on the comicsuk forum, so I'll ask Colin if he can help, but he's a war comics fan so don't hold your breath.
