I liked the quirky horror/comedy series better. Interesting that the artist is the same.

Have you read the earlier Frankenstein stories that ran in Prize Comics # 7-68 (1940-48)?  Briefer started it off as a horror feature then switched to more comic tales.  The switch back to horror stories came in the early 1950s when horror comics were in vogue.
