Comic StoryThe Scourge of Mars / Konga (20 pages)
SynopsisMartians (mistakenly referred to as Marsians) attack the Earth by causing storms, attacking buildings, and setting fires in the atmosphere, all from their saucers. After Konga attacks the Martian saucers, they decide to shrink him and take him to Mars. They also kidnap an American pilot named Cpt. Beamis. On Mars, Beamis escapes and teams up with Konga, reversing the shrinking ray allowing him and Konga to fight the Martian fleet. Defeated, the Martians sign a truce with Earth and allow Beamis and Konga to return to Earth.

NotesThe Martians are depicted as grey-skinned goblin-like creatures. They are served by robots.

Konga finds himself saving humanity every time the Martians attack, such as holding up the Boulder Dam (Hoover Dam) to keep it from collapsing, keeping the Empire State Building (referred to as the Gotham State Building) from falling over, and repairing a damaged bridge over the Colombia River.

In one sequence, Konga hits a Martian saucer so hard, it flies off into space.

Cpt. Beamis mentions the New York Mets winning the World Series. This issue was published in 1964, 5 years before the Mets would win their first World Series in 1969.
