Murphy Anderson art

The Ken Brady story has art by G. Colan. Early Gene Colan? Also, why does Lars from Mars remind me of Adam Strange? A similar red outfit and art by Murphy Anderson, I suppose.

I just read in Tony Isabella's 1000 COMICS YOU MUST READ that Lars was written by Jerry Seigel. Between that and the Murphy Anderson art, this could well have been a DC comic!

Is it certain that Murphy Anderson inked himself in this issue? It certainly is Anderson's pencils, but the inks look like some other DC stalwart like Giacoia, Barry, etc. The last story in particular doesn't have any of Anderson's inking trademarks. Compare with the previous issue and you'll see the difference.

I was reminded of the early Adam Strange also, Adam Strange is almost an exact replica except for the back rocket which is different

Lars of Mars #10 & #11 whetted my appetite for more Murphy Anderson/Jerry Seigel awesomeness-- were there ever issues 1-9 ? Looking but cannot seem to locate any other books.
