Monte kisses her but says “I won’t betray my kind for a Jezebel like you!” Elinor realizes she actually does love Monte, and when the miners strike, Elinor gives in to their demands and says she’s leaving the country. Monte says “love knows no class boundaries” and they decide to get married. |
