Black Orchid manages to lose her dress in both stories and has to battle the bad guys while wearing her underwear. What're the odds of that? (To be fair, her "costume" includes a long, floor-length dress which wouldn't seem to be very practical when crime-fighting) |
|
Curiously , the fact that there was a Golden Age Black Orchid seems to be largely unknown today. . Run a search for 'Black Orchid Character' and you get the various DC revival incarnations, but no mention of the Topps character.
The name is tailor-made for a superhero, if we look at the meaning of the name 'Black Orchid'. Orchid comes from the Greek, ' “orchis” which means what?! Who knew!
