Interesting superhero . . . !

I'm a huge Brain Boy fan. But after rereading this book countless times, I never noticed before that the name of the robots' creator was changed after the art was finished. The first letter of his last name has been whited out: Professor Enrico _uan. I wonder why. Was his name originally "Juan" and the editor thought that was a first name, not a last name? Was it "Tuan" and the editor thought we'd mistake him for Jungle Jim? These little things always fascinate me.

Who enrico _uan was is going to bug me. The flashbacks on page 11 are astounding. In fact the whole story is pretty outrageous. Herb Kastle (or Castle) https://docs.comics.org/wiki/Kastle,_Herbert_D. wrote Brain Boy and some Magnus Robot Fighter. On the strength of Brain Boys's ethics and morality I'm going to have to go back and pay closer attention to his Magnus Stories. Considering that both this story and Magnus are both to do with evil robots,I wonder if he had a thing about the subject? He must have been an interesting person. Harlan Ellison wrote an essay on him and Frazetta did a cover for one of his books. Which is here. https://openlibrary.org/works/OL9171046W/The_three_lives_of_Edward_Berner The Great Ricorta = The big cheeze?! Cheers.
