What... Is it?
   By crashryan
Captain Kangaroo was, for years, a fabulously successful program for young children. I was one of millions of kids who grew up watching him. The Captain had a gentle, whimsical style. He was supported by a cast of costumed people, puppets, talking furniture, and such. The budget was low and the format had Bob Keeshan puttering around and talking to the viewer, much like Mr. Rogers did later on. Adapting the show to comics was a crazy idea. The author had to take the core characters and make everything else up.
