This has to be one of the absolute worst covers of all time. A dreadful piece of art. Is he fighting or dancing?
I'd say it's also one of the 'gayest' covers ever but that would probably be politically incorrect.
Offends my eyeballs as a piece of art every time I see it.
I'm not an artist, so when I see a piece of art and I know, 'I can draw better that than that.' I know it smells. |

Ha! Ha! I have to laugh at the super-patriotic premise of "The Flag" character's stories, that a little boy has a birthmark that looks just like The United States of America's flag, and is adopted as an infant by a patriotic American. And he grows up to become a fighter for freedom for that country, aided by super powers bestowed upon him (ostensibly from The Great Beyond, by famous long-deceased U.S. presidents, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and a few more). That is eerily similar (at least in effect) to the code of Superman, a Space Alien, born with Superpowers (by Earth's standards),who was adopted by an average American family, and has sworn to fight for truth, justice, and The American way (a subject whose irony would get me banned from this forum if I were to broach it in the body of this comment). Back on topic, I am surprised that National/D.C. Publishers didn't sue Ace Magazines over this obvious copycat effort, as they did Fawcett Publications, over publishing Captain Marvel. |
