I wonder, did they really have "waste pipes" that just dumped their grey water into the yard right next to the house in Britain in 1949? I don't know much about plumbing or construction, but it seems to me that wouldn't be good for the house's foundation in the long run. And dish soap might not be too healthy for the grass in the yard.
