It's interesting how they used unconscious telepathy to transform the mad scientist into a hero without changing the story. Kim L. Neidigh

Ditko's art transformed what was a pretty terrible movie into another great read. There were probably many annoyed readers who read this first and then went to see the disappointing movie.

I agree with cavecarson. Ditko is almost always good, but this is a particularly nice job. Funny how a well-drawn movie adaptation can make a poor movie look good. The Dell Hercules adaptations drawn by George Evans are also good examples.

Well drawn Ditko art makes me wish that the producers of that horrible boring movie KONGA would have hired Ditko to do the story boards. Things may have turned out a lot different !

SynopsisAfter his plane crashes in Africa, Doctor Decker is befriended by a small monkey named Konga as well as natives that stand nearly 12 feet tall. Decker discovers that the natives drink a serum concocted from seeds of a giant plant which is what causes their immense growth. Bringing Konga and some plant seeds back to England with him, Decker creates the serum and injects Konga with it. Konga grows into a gorilla and eventually into a giant that rampages through London before being destroyed by the military.

SynopsisOld "Grandpappy" was beloved in his small town as he was a veteran from the Spanish-American War. When his conniving grandson and his wife put him into a retirement home so he can claim his inheritance, "Grandpappy" reveals that he is to be the Earth scout for an impending Martain invasion, and uses a gun that transports its victims to another dimension called the "Land of Nevermore".
