Synopsis | Vacationing office worker Marion meets Bill, but doesn’t know he’s a professional gambler until he’s shot in a card game and comes to her for help. She agrees to marry him but only if he stops gambling. After the wedding, Bill is convinced to bet by his friend Dan, and loses a lot of money. Marion leaves him. Two years later, Bill is an unshaven bum. He tracks Marion down and discovers he has a little daughter. Don is trying to convince Marion to marry him when Bill breaks in, forces Don to admit he caused Bill’s relapse, and reconciles with Marion. |

While Danny is training for a big fight, Letty goes out with Larry, who takes her to expensive clubs and such. Larry blackmails her into asking Danny to throw the fight. Out of love for her, Danny agrees. A remorseful Letty changes her mind, but Larry gives Danny doped gumdrops, causing him to lose the fight. Danny dies of his injuries. Letty is accused of poisoning Danny because he wouldn’t take a dive, and will probably go to prison. |
