Synopsis | Connie works in a factory with her boyfriend Larry, but desires better things. When factory owner Michim’s daughter Audrey seems attracted to Larry, Connie encourages him to go along so he can get ahead in his job. Larry eventually refuses to continue because Audrey is in love with him. Michim offers Connie $15,000 to leave town so Audrey can have a free hand with Larry. Connie takes the money then repents but Larry has found out. Connie finally confronts Michim and returns the check; Larry confesses he loves Connie and they are reunited. |

Synopsis | After her father’s death, Margot takes over the failing department store he had founded, learning the job from current manager Gary. Margot and Gary fall in love. To spite Gary, Margot agrees with Ken’s idea to change the store’s focus to upper-class customers. The policy is a failure and Gary breaks up with Margot and quits his job. Margot dates Ken but he turns out to be unfaithful in love and business. Margot tries to save the store but it’s taken over by the bank. Gary is named the new manager and he hires Margot as his secretary, with the possibility of a romantic reconciliation. |
