Synopsis | Linda is recreation director at a “settlement house” for underprivileged children. Linda postpones her marriage to writer Bob because her job requires her full devotion. Linda hires Betty as her assistant but begins to suspect Betty is trying to steal Bob away. Betty arranges to have Linda promoted to an office job, which disappoints the children, especially Tommy. Linda resigns but returns when Tommy locks himself in a room with a pistol, angry at Betty's cruel treatment of him. Linda defuses the situation and Betty reveals her true, nasty nature. Linda gets her job and boyfriend back. |

However, Jeff and Pamela are trapped in a remote cabin overnight during a storm. Nothing happens, but Pamela is expelled due to the scandal. Back home, Pamela meets Allen and they fall in love. Pamela confesses the whole truth to Allen and he says he knew about it but it doesn’t matter to him. |

Synopsis | Joan’s widowed mother’s medical bills compel Joan to become a waitress at a swanky resort hotel. David mistakes Joan for a fellow guest; the hotel has a rule forbidding female employees to mingle socially with guests. Nonetheless, David and Joan become close. Nella, a guest who’s also romantically interested in the wealthy David, threatens to have Joan fired unless she promises not to see him again, and Joan agrees. Nella breaks her word and Joan is fired, but now she’s free to tell David the truth. David and Joan, in love, leave the hotel together. |

Roy asks her to the prom and she accepts. |
